Our Coaches: Profiles

Middlesex Professional Chris Peploe has been coaching with Peter Wellings for several years now on a variety of projects including coaching courses at Ealing CC where he first started playing at the age of 9. In 2003 he was the Middlesex Premier Leagues highest wicket taker despite being only 22 and although his playing commitments take up much of his time Chris still loves to help coach the next generation of young cricketers.
Wello has been a big help to me since I was 15 years old, always offering me advice and encouraging me to achieve high standards. Any youngster who wishes to develop their cricket should get involved with his coaching - hopefully I'll also get the chance to coach you too".

Leigh Parry is Head Coach of Ealing CC Colts. Leigh played provincial cricket as a schoolboy as well as
in the Western Province Premier Cricket league with team mates such as Herschel
Gibbs (South Africa), Neil Johnston (Zimbabwe) and Paul Harris (South Africa). Leigh
has been playing for Ealing's 1st XI for the past 3 years, and
"might I add, the 1st eleven have won the league every year since I've joined the club!" (Yes it is all because of me!!)
Leigh also played 2nd XI cricket for Surrey in 2006. Leigh is one of the most enthusiastic
coaches you’ll come across and describes his philosophy as such:
"My coaching style is one of, work hard, smile, learn, laugh and enjoy the benefits of learning about something you love doing. The two most important things you need to take away from a coaching session are enjoyment and learning. If you don't enjoy it, you won't learn it."

Nalin Jayasinghe has been a regular feature on Coaching Cricket Excellence courses since 2001, and combines his coaching role with playing for Ealing CC where he has been involved since the age of 12. In fact, Nalin attended some of our first courses as a pupil and finds this gives him a unique insight into what works best for the children:
"Having previously been coached by Wello I feel I can relate to how children learn about cricket. I find coaching very rewarding, particularly when you see children enjoy themselves so much and their performances improve day by day".
Patrick Fallis has been involved with Coaching Cricket Excellence for 3 years now, after attending holiday courses at Ealing CC when he was younger. Patrick spent a season playing grade cricket in West Australia when he finished his A levels and is now part of the Centre of Excellence scheme at Cardiff University.
"Wello has been coaching me since I was 13 and I have learnt hundreds of invaluable coaching tips from him. I think the facilities for his courses at Ealing CC are fantastic and what I really enjoy is the huge variety of activities that children can participate in. Combine that with the coaching team Wello has put together and its guaranteed to mean a lot of fun for children attending."
Alastair Fraser has been coaching with CCE for several years now after a playing career that included representing Young England in his early days before moving into professional cricket with Middlesex and Essex.
Ali is still closely involved with his club side Stanmore, and is also Captain of the Middlesex League XI, which competes against other league representative teams. Ali is particularly keen on encouraging children to experience competitive sport and is currently cricket Professional at St Pauls School in Hammersmith.
Bruce Friderichs played first class cricket for Eastern Province Jumbos in South Africa along with junior honours representing South Africa U17's, South African Universities and the S.A Students side. Bruce is Coaching Cricket Excellence's specialist wicketkeeping coach along with being a top batsman. Bruce believes that cricketers get out of the game what they put into it:
"My philosophy is that both hard work and a hunger to succeed always gets an individual over the line, no matter how talented that individual is."
