Ealing CC Academy Match Report & Scorecard
Ealing CC Academy v Barmy Army U14's
Played at Corfton Road on Friday April 11th 2008
Ealing CC Academy Captain Robbie White asked Barmy Army to bat 1st after winning the toss and his opening bowling pair of Raminder Singh and Hussain Ali-Adnan did not disappoint, bowling both aggressively and economically to put the Barmy Army openers under considerable pressure.
Raminder Singh consistently troubled all the Barmy Army batsmen and was rewarded with the wickets of Gough (son of England legend Darren Gough) and Rivan in a superb spell of 7 overs, 3 maidens, 2 for 7. Southern and Graham played some powerful strokes down the ground off Ealing Academy's change bowlers but the introduction of Oscar Dewhurst added to the problems facing the Barmy Army pair and he deservedly got his first wicket when Southern advanced to meet him and was beaten in the flight, the ball being smartly taken by White for a good stumping.
Oscar's spell of 4 overs without conceding a run showed how accurate his bowling was and it was a huge disappointment to all when a monstrous black cloud let loose a torrent of rain, snow and hail putting paid to what was becoming an intriguing match with Barmy Army 58 for 3 after 24 overs.
