"We've just arrived back in the US. The boys wanted to tell you how much they enjoyed cricket camp this year. Thomas says that he'd much rather grow up in England so that he could play on a cricket team."

Kevin Pietersen visits Ealing

As a warm-up for the crucial last test of the enthralling 2005 Ashes series at the Oval, superstar England batsman Kevin Pietersen visited Ealing for a bit of practice before the big match.

As luck would have it, the Ealing Academy boys were playing a game - so the opportunity arose for one of the youngsters to have a bowl at the big hitting England star. Into the breach stepped young Oli Wilkin, similar in looks to Aussie speedster Brett Lee but perhaps not quite as quick. Oli's first delivery was spot on off-stump and KP respectfully drilled it down the ground before proceeding to launch other assorted bowlers all round west London.

After his big hitting exploits, KP took time to sign every autograph asked of him and posed for photos, which was much appreciated by all the young cricketers there. We only wish he'd helped us try and find our cricket balls, most of which were deposited in several roads and gardens surrounding the club!'
