Nina Littler - May 2010Luke and Zach have made their debuts for Lechlade Cricket Club (small town local to us in Gloucestershire). Many people have commented to us about how good the boys are technically and that must come down to Leigh's coaching. A Gloucestershire county cricket coach said Zach was the best 7 year old he had ever seen! And Luke got a mention in the county paper for his performance. So credit to the wonderful coaching they get from CCE and most important, they are enjoying it immensely.
Caroline Winterbottom - May 2010Dear Peter, Please pass on our thanks to Chris Peploe for some fab coaching in the Easter hols. Harry has done some really good batting at school this term and just got his colours for cricket - Chris helped enormously! Sam too has come on a great deal. Thanks again to Chris and to you for making it possible.
Andrea Snell - April 2010Just wanted to say thank you to yourself and the coaching team. Max had a great time at the cricket course this week, absolutely loved it.
Raj Chityal - April 2010My son Rohan had been looking forward to actually getting out there and playing cricket with other kids for some time, in fact he has playing around the house since he was about 2 years old! It was important for us that he had a really positive experience on this first occasion and you and your team certainly provided that. He is already asking when he can go back and play at 'his club' in Ealing, so many thanks to 'Crazy' Lee and the rest of the gang for a job well done and we hope to you see you all in the near future.
Kate Hyams - April 2010I just wanted to let you know how much Teddy and Zach enjoyed their week of cricket with you. Thank you so much for a fantastic course.
Teddy is a very keen cricketer and had a brilliant time in his coaching sessions with Rob. He enjoyed it so much and learnt such a lot and I am delighted with the whole outcome. Rob was great - a fantastic teacher and a real inspiration.
I was astonished and delighted with how much Zach enjoyed his week. I admit I had some reservations about him being so young but he really took to it. He joined in and had fun (which is what it's all about!) and he just absolutely loved being 'one of the boys'. I really feel he has developed so much in a short space of time.
We are going away next week otherwise they would do the course again. They are already clamouring for courses in the summer and refuse to schedule a trip to the grandparents until the cricket priorities are sorted out! Needless to say, they are really looking forward to the start of the Sunday season.
Laura Hickman - August 2009I just wanted to let you know that Arthur had the best week on your course last week. I have never seen him more enthusiastic, he loved every minute of it. He was thrilled to have scored his first 100! Thank you so much to you and your coaches for everything.
Hidenori Tachibana - August 2009My children miss the time they spent at the ground, as it was a rich time and they enjoyed a lot. I wish they could again join some courses in the near future at the club and also would like to watch games if there is an opportunity. Once again, thanks very much for your kind considerations.
Philip Mattimoe - August 2009Andrew is really enjoying his cricket at the moment and dragging me to the nets in every spare moment! Should I thank you? Actually, the boy in me still enjoys spending hours at the nets so it is a thank you, and it is wonderful to see that Andrew has discovered a passion in his life.
Lucy Brecker - July 2009I just wanted to write to thank you and all the coaches for helping Joshua last week. He really enjoyed himself, asking me on friday night when he could hardly keep his eyes open if he could go to cricket course again tomorrow, saturday! It was a big step up for him socially as he has only just finished nursery, but towards the end of the week had started to talk and make friends with some of the other boys. Thank you once again for providing such a positive experience for him.
Flora McIlwain - July 2009Alfie and Gracie did your course last week and I just wanted to tell you how much they enjoyed it! We will certainly be booking again so congrats on running such a successful and enjoyable enterprise.
Jeremy Fricker - May 2009Thanks for a brilliant session with Percy yesterday. It will have helped him so much. I'll let you know how his batting goes at school. I am hoping to get him up for more of the group coaching in his summer hols too.
Sophie Russell - April 2009The boys loved their days with you last week. You really do have an excellent recipe for making cricket fun.
Marie-Louise North - April 2009Just to let you know that Henry thoroughly enjoyed the one-on-one sessions and the nets yesterday. You have really inspired him and he has asked if he can do an all day session and wants to get all the kit! I must say I never thought I would here that from him. You have really given him the confidence to play with his peer group this week and you cannot imagine how grateful I am. Mum's can only do so much - it is you guys who are their role models.
Sonja Vao - April 2009Maateo has thoroughly enjoyed his first week sessions and many thanks to yourself and your very enthusiastic coaches. He has appreciated their humour!
Dean Sayers - January 2009Just wanted to say I enjoyed the session on Saturday. I've had the odd session here and there at The Oval, and have to say that I found Rob's coaching to be far more beneficial to me than the coaches I have had there.
Nina Campbell - January 2009Dear Peter
I just wanted to tell you how much my two boys (Luke,8 and Zach,5) enjoyed their 4 days of cricket at New Year. The course was exceptionally well run, your coaches enthusiastic and professional, and they made it great fun for all the kids. The boys made huge progress.
Barbara Want - January 2009Dear Peter
Just to let you know that Joel and Benedict absolutely LOVED the New Year cricket course with Leigh and Pepsi and can't wait for the next course.
Joanna Chatterton - October 2008Many thanks for all your great communication and organisation - we've been so impressed and by the standard of coaching. My Dad spent his career coaching cricket as a school teacher and as a player and has been bowled over (excuse the pun) by the club. We feel very fortunate to have this in our area.
Vicky Pearson - August 2008Thanks for a great summer with the boys, they have loved it, as always.
Damaris - July 2008Just a really big thank you for a week that both boys really enjoyed. It was such a lovely atmosphere and brilliant fun for them. Think they will be doing more for many summers ahead. Repeated thanks to all of you!!
Jane Beeston - August 2008Hi Peter
I just wanted to thank you for organising an excellent summer of cricket for the boys – can you also pass on a special thanks to Blaney, Pepsi, Lee, T and Jonesy (plus anyone else I have forgotten) for their enthusiasm and dedication to ensuring the boys continue to love the sport... after nearly 5 weeks of cricket I never ceased to be amazed by Adam and Rory’s enjoyment and hunger to play!
They are off camping with their Dad for a few days and you can guess the first few things to be packed... bat, ball and wickets!!!
Thanks again
Regards
Jane
Sammy Talker - August 2008Hi Peter
At the end of the Sunday Coaching sessions, I would like to thank your team and you for the fantastic coaching that Leeran has had during these sessions.
Look forward to receiving the forms in October.
Regards Sammy
Pilar Gómez - August 2008Thanks for the course. Tristan enjoyed every minute of it.
Ogyen Verhagen - May 2008Just over a year ago a rather slight Dutch boy of 13 with something of a reputation for football, having been spotted by Ajax, made his way into the brand new, challenging surroundings of Orley Farm Prep School at Harrow-on-the-Hill. He didn't have more than half a dozen words of English to his name, he was totally unfamiliar with the ways and syllabus of English schooling; and he certainly didn't know one end of a cricket ball from the other.
However he took a look at what was going on out there amongst all those young men in white trousers running around in a confusing square dance, tossed a ball from one hand to the other and asked "What do I do?" "Leg Spin! It's the most difficult discipline. But master it and you will never be short of a game".
The cricket Gods were smiling. Stephen Bloom, the Orley Farm Director of Sports, pointed him down the Hill towards Ealing. And there, Peter Wellings took him under his athletic wing. They worked very happily together throughout the summer holidays' rain and shine and then through the winter nets. Stephen Jones, the Harrow School cricket coach, took an avuncular interest as winter turned to spring.
And now – about half way through May – his analysis reads like this:
44 overs bowled in 8 games. 22 wickets. Average 6, at 1 wicket every 2 overs.
A "flash in the pan"? We'll see as the summer rolls on. The spinner's path gets more demanding as you move up the skill league. And the bad days have still to hit his numbers.
But learning to pitch it and turn it both ways, while hugely enjoying doing so, has got him an Outstanding Talent Scholarship to Harrow. So perhaps there is a lot more to come.
Thank you Peter Wellings. And well done so far,
Samuel Talker - June 2008Hi Peter,
A mail to say Thank you.
That 1-2-1 session you had with Leeran the other day has been great for him. He has had great feedback from both, the coaches at Ealing (on Sundays) and his school coach. His own enthusiasm for the game, already pretty high with those sessions he has with Ronel, has increased further as well. It is delightful to see.
Look forward to some more sessions with you
Regards
Sammy
Dear Peter
I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much my son Flynn (Leslie) enjoyed his recent course with you. When he has time he would love to take another!
Kind regards
